The forum is scheduled to take place on October 17 at Lomonosov Moscow State University under the auspices of the Union of Rectors of Russian Universities.
In a press statement today, Professor Dr. Mohammed Khair Al-Ghubani Al-Husseini, President of the International Union of Universities, emphasized the importance of this forum, which continues to grow and evolve each year. He noted that cooperation between BRICS countries in the fields of education, science, and technology is becoming stronger.
Professor Mohammed Khair stated that the forum is transitioning from bilateral interactions to multilateral ones, referring to the increasing number of participants. He explained that the upcoming forum is the first of its kind to include the participation of university presidents and deans from leading BRICS universities, as well as representatives from scientific communities and experts on a large scale.
It is worth noting that the BRICS bloc was originally founded by just five countries: Brazil, Russia, China, India, and South Africa. Later, other countries, including Bahrain, Egypt, Ethiopia, the UAE, and Iran, joined, followed by numerous others such as Kuwait, Indonesia, Morocco, Tunisia, Nicaragua, and more, bringing the total to nearly 1,000 universities.
The forum aims to promote the principle of cooperation between universities, academies, and institutions of higher education and technology, while keeping pace with scientific and technological developments. It also addresses the challenges and obstacles faced by countries amidst conflicts and wars, seeking to find radical solutions and engage academics in addressing such conflicts.
